haha, i love it, we can dish it as well as take it so...., i guess we shouldn't quit our day jobs, but seriously looking back we probably wouldn't have changed a thing, ND should be in over UAB, ND beat people this year unlike UAB, and bowlsby basically said on CBS after the selection that they put UAB in because they had more total wins and because Notre Dame finished poorly, ND was 4-6 in their last 10 with all of those losses against tournament teams besides Rutgers, while UAB only finished 5-5 losing games to TCU and East Carolina, UAB did win 4 more games then ND but thats only because they played more games out of conference then ND, so i guess next year ND should add more out of conference cupcakes to their schedule and they'll get a bid, UAB also got one of the easiest C-USA schedules while Notre Dame played the toughest Big East schedule, but i'm not whining we got it wrong
It makes no difference whether ND should get in over UAB or not. An expert bracketologist projects the teams they think the selection committee will choose, not those teams they would pick if they had the chance. Regarding your assertion ND should schedule more non-conference cupcakes than UAB, consider ND had a non-conference 267 SOS and played games against 8 teams with an RPI above 150 (Harvard-196, IUPUFW-307, Charleston Southern-230, Michigan-157, Army, 327, Marist-259, Western Illinois-276, Samford-225), while UAB had a non-conference SOS of 115 and played just 3 teams with the same condition (Marshall-235, Alabama A&M-231, South Alabama-248). Looks like ND already has that cupcake non-conference schedule you are looking for.
ND beat 4 tournament teams (UConn, BC, Villanova, West Virginia), UAB beat one (Alabama A&M), and the committee spent 4 hours debating who the last 2 teams in should be, but enough said about that, time to focus on what's really important anyways....The tournament itself
Did not know you were in the room with the tournament committee timing them on their selection of the last 2 teams. If you are going to make statements, at least make ones that have some sustance behind them. You have no idea how long the committee spent on choosing the last 2 teams. Face it, you were wrong !!! And of all the various sources that posted their selections last Sunday, you finished worse than everyone else, even Jerry Palm and Joe Lunardi, two guys you love to hate. Now, how about posting your NCAA Tournament predictions so we can get another good laugh !!!!
