Bracketology 101's Field of 65 - Jan. 31

Here are Chris and Craig's Bracketology 101 selections for Jan. 31:

The Breakdown
LSU gets in this week because they are 4-2 in the SEC and they have two winnable road games this week. UAB gets the nod over Marquette because they are two games better then them in conference and we predict that UAB will win at Marquette on Wednesday night. Texas A & M gets the axe because of there upcoming tough schedule which we predict they will not fair well with.

Seeding of teams will start next week.

how does your ranking system have bucknell over holy cross?bucknell just lost to american,no disgrace, and navy(a loser to army by 20)--it's true that bucknell beat hc,and they have the better ooc win over pitt, but every other ranking, all the rpi's,sagarin, etc. have hc well ahead--hc is in first in the patriot league,bucknell,2nd

With only one bid coming out of the Patriot conference, we picked the team who we think has the best chance to win the year-end conference tournament. Despite their two losses last week (both road games), Bucknell has a much stronger resume this season. The Bison have wins over St. Joseph's and Pitt, and beat Holy Cross handily in their only meeting of the season. Holy Cross may have a game lead in the conference right now, but have nothing close to an eye-popping win, and in short simply have not shown themselves to be the caliber of Bucknell. Their RPI and Sagarin rankings are based simply on who they played, not how they played in those games. In the end, we think Bucknell will be dancin.'
