We are currently in lockdown mode in Bracketology 101 headquarters with "One Shining Moment" playing on a continuous loop.
Saturday was a wild day filled with buzzer-beaters and crazy finishes, and as is the case every Championship Saturday, the final results answered some questions and opened up several more.
Here is how we see things heading into today's games:
1. Penn State and Richmond are in regardless of what happens today. A Dayton win today would not put Richmond in any jeopardy of getting squeezed.
2. San Diego State will probably end up on the 2 line after beating BYU in the MWC final last night. The Cougars could be as low as a 4.
3. We don't like Clemson's resume at all, but we can also see a fifth ACC bid being handed out. The Tigers would be the logical choice for that fifth bid.
4. Perhaps the biggest question mark is what the committee will do with Alabama and Georgia. We can't see both getting in or both getting left out. Alabama has beaten Georgia twice in the last week, but the Tide looked awful yesterday against Kentucky and don't have the RPI or OOC resume wins that Georgia has. 'Bama does have a much prettier Top 50 record, though (4-4 vs. 3-9). This will be one of the toughest calls of the day to make.
5. The other bubble team to watch today is St. Mary's. We think the Gaels are still in decent shape to get a bid because we think the committee will want to reward some mid-majors, and we like their resume better than UAB's, Missouri State's, or VCU's. A win by Dayton today, though, could change things that outlook and could leave St. Mary's on the outside looking in.
6. If Duke wins today, they will probably get the final 1 seed and Notre Dame will get bumped to a 2.
We will release our Final Field of 68 between 4-5 p.m. ET today. Until then, we will check the comments section periodically to answer any questions.

The regions and pods are set after the based on the top 16 teams overall (top 4-seeds). This is based on geography for the pods, and geography+balance for the regions. Any pod can flow to any region.
Mag900
"except that you are so clueless, you incorrectly "pointed out" a non grammar mistake. and, yes, opinions of people who don't understand the difference between "their" and "there" (who then chalk it up to a "typo" and not stupidity) and "to" and "too" should not be given very much weight."
"duke also beat marquette, a team that ND and uconn lost too. the transitive property doesn't exactly work too well in college basketball."
It looks like we shouldn't be giving much weight to Mag900 as per his own advice.
Enough of this nonsense now. I'm an Illini fan and think we're in real trouble. I don't see how all four of those Big 10 teams are getting in.
I agree with Collin. We should refuse to pay for this site if they are going to lie and be late for the bracket!!! Oh wait...
Collin, give them time. They're trying as hard as they can. It'll be up very soon, I'm sure.
Come on Brack101... let me see you put Georgia in as an 11 seed. That'll make my day! If you can't do that, I'll take a play-in game any day of the week. Put us against an undeserving VT or Clemson if you'd like. We'll take it.
its 5:00 where is it
Guys - chill. It'll be up soon enough. We have 55 minutes until the show.
B101 waiting to see if the bracket slips out early again?
The 3:56 Will was not me. I am a polite person.
I like Jerry Palm's final bracket (I think) that he posted at 3PM. Georgia is an 11 seed. Duplicate his bracket, 101.
Waiting til the game's over maybe? PSU could jump 2-3 seed lines...
PSU is getting hammered, the game is over.
Or waiting to see if Penn St should be in the First Four games in Dayton. If they win the conference, they can't be in those games.
Penn State is getting beat by 13with 3 minutes to go, though.
This happened last year and they mysteriously posted right at the same time at the Brackets came out. This year Lunardi, Bracketology actually have about 6 teams for 3 spots and they are all very nervous about their "pick %". Let's see if they come out with the bracket well before the 6pm release.
I loled hard at Palms last bracket. Seems wild. If thats what the committee comes up with their will be tons of screaming, but that seems par for the course so.....
@MichigIN
Georgia would find a way to lose the game if they were up by 13 with 3 minutes left. We're masters at that scenario!
@Dustin,
He no longer has SDSt as a 1 in his final bracket. Check it out, it's not what some were saying was Palm's final bracket a few hours ago, he updated again...
I am really hoping for a 2010 Florida/2009 Arizona/2006 Air Force/2006 Utah State/2008 Oregon to be included to throw this place into a frenzy.
LOL true that, Derek. As a Gator fan, that reminds me of the game in Athens this year!
come on 40 minutes B101!!!!!
@MichigIN
Boooooo!!!!! 2OT loss to Florida & Notre Dame, OT loss to Alabama, buzzer beating loss against Tennessee. We'll play with anyone for 35 minutes.... why can't we just ignore the last 5 minutes? Are they really that important? I speak for all of Georgia when I say the last 5 minutes of basketball is overrated!
If there is one its probably USC, BC, VCU, Missouri State, Harvard, UAB, or UTEP.
DERP. HERP DERP.
It will be a shame if Georgia misses the Tournament. So many close losses to solid competition, whereas Florida had so many close wins. I think the Dawgs can give people fits in the Big Dance.
here's my bracket. i made it on a spreadsheet, so make sure you take into account the "s curve" thing. i made an attempt at matching geographically, but gave up when i didnt like 2 having to either put arizona and wash or byu and sdsu in the same region.
i also tried to spread out the acc, big12, big10, and big east as best as possible...
1 - Ohio St., Kansas, ND, Duke
2 - UConn, SDSU, UNC, Pitt
3 - Texas, Kentucky, Florida, Louisville
4 - BYU, Arizona, Purdue, Syracuse
5 - Xavier, Wisc, GTown, Utah St.
6 - Wash, WVU, Temple, K.State
7 - Cincy, St. John's, UNLV, Vandy
8 - Mizzou, ODU, A&M, UCLA
9 - Marquette, Tenn, G.Mason, Gonzaga
10 - Fla St., Penn St., Nova, Richmond
11 - Memphis, Butler, Mich St., Mich
12 - USC/St.Mary's, VT/Colo, Clemson, Illinois
13 - Princeton, Belmont, Oakland, Bucknell
14 - Akron, Ind. St., Morehead St., LIU
15 - St. Peter's, N.Colo, Wofford, Hampton
16 - BU, NC Ashville, UALR/CSB, Ala.St/UTSA
i'd be all good with alabama getting in over usc.
Seems obvious that the committee only looks at february on... Ridiculous.
