B101's Weekday Tweets - Thursday

Our quick thoughts on Thursday's results:

Western Kentucky picked up a nice win at South Alabama to stay unbeaten in the Sun Belt. That victory, coupled with Monday's home win over Mississippi State, should give the Hilltoppers a bump up to the 12 line next week.

(You know it's a slow night when Western Kentucky grabs the top tweet...)

Oakland made our bracket this week as the Summit's automatic bid, and they cemented their spot Thursday by winning at Oral Roberts, 67-64. Oral had been 5-0 at home this season, a mark that includes wins over Missouri and New Mexico.

Of note: Xavier won its A-10 opener at LaSalle; Northwestern trailed Texas-Pan American (who came in at 1-15) at the half, but pulled away late to win by 9; Vermont won at Maine; Murray State won at Tennessee State; Weber State lost at Northern Colorado (who improved to 14-3, 3-1 in the Big Sky with the win); Campbell suffered its first Atlantic Sun loss, falling at Mercer.

What? Nothing about Michigan's epic comeback against Penn State last night?

The fact that the game got no mention really speaks to how far Michigan has fallen this season. At the beginning of the season, it would be hard to imagine the Wolverines making a comeback from 16 down with 12 minutes left (on the road, no less) not being a big story. Unfortunately for them, it's not. At a mediocre 8-6 overall, Michigan is still not all that relevant in a very crowded and pretty deep Big Ten.
