Who are some sleeper teams that you can see making the final four? Or the elite 8?

Looks like that link to download the brackets are broken.

It's working again on our end...anyone else having problems?

I can't get it to work either. It goes to this link (http://www.box.net/shared/gs6osqex39) and never loads anything but page header and footer.

We are able to see how many people downloaded the brackets, and the number keeps going up. Does anyone who has been successful viewing the brackets have a suggestion to those who can't get them?

I know, right... Do you really think the final 4 will be louisville, pitt, UNC and memphi like everyone?

Zags!!! Theyre for real, watch out! And, watch out for WVU as another sleeper team... Nova and Cuse as well.

Can anyone explain how B101 takes top rankings in the Bracket Project when they provide 3 brackets? Do they just go off of one? Wouldn't their odds 3x greater than the others such as MMAS or do they all enter mult. brackets and then the rankings are based off the combo?

You're a little confused about what we do. Our site is a bracketology site, which means it predicts who is going to get into the NCAA tournamant, not who will win once the tournament field is selected. We just picked our winners for fun after our real "work" is done.

Got it, thank you!!!

In my opinion, Chris is closest to the reality based community. He has NC over Louisville, which is wrong; but he receives bonus points for sending AZ to the Sweet-16 in order to smite the crybabies of SDSU, St. Mary's, Creighton, and especially the awfulness of PSU.

Craig is only slightly more wrong than Chris. He has NC over Madoff and a more disturbing bracket than Chris.

Matt's bracket, on the other hand, is full-blown crazy talk. Memphis over Duke? Please. Why not Morehead State?

The correct answer is that the Washington Huskys beat the Madoff Huskys, Cal and Louisville (sending Pitino to Arizona) to reach the finals. Pitt beats FSU, UCLA, NC and Washington to win it all.

Thanks guys for the great website all year- a delusional AZ fan.

Dan -- The March fans have had an extra week to cram in comparison with previous years.

If they were not experts a week ago, they are now. Kyle Whelliston wrote a nice piece about it ...

Btw, as always, great job all year guys!

Great job once again everyone at b101! You guys do a GREAT job covering the tournament and CBB. I am a huge fan and avid reader of your blog. It has inspired me to write my own blog about CBB and CFB. Great work!

Good job guys! Even though you posted your tournament outcome predictions for fun, they are fabulous! I was forced to enter a couple of bracket pools, and as a 20 year old, female college student, I had no idea what I was doing. Using your predictions, and a little advice from my big brother, I have a perfect bracket so far... and today's games look pretty hopeful! Infact, I'm in 1st place in the university wide pool - beating all the boys!

i'm not even sure if these are chalked... i think they're intentionally awful to bait some sucker into using them. the first two rounds of most of these are hopeless picks :)

What happened to all the ACC fans ripping the Big Ten all year?

Anonymous said...

In the ACC-Big Ten Challenge that matters, the Big Ten went 2-0 against higher seeded ACC teams.

Props to the Pac 10 though - good start for them. Everyone kinda knew the top half of the big 12 was very good, but I think those teams are going to have a difficult round 2.

TO ALL THE ACC SLAPPIES FROM LAST SATURDAY...I told you WF would be a four and lose and FSU would be a five and lose...guess they were overrated just as anyone without ACC blinders on their eyes would agree!

Anonymous said...

John: FSU was underrated all year, not overrated. Three top 10 wins, 4 top 15 wins. The fact they lost a single game to a decent team doesn't make them overrated. Wake Forest is a different story -- they have collapsed down the stretch.

Anonymous said...

Also John, FSU did not have a single loss outside the Top 50. Beat your chest all you want, but you're the one wearing blinders if you don't think FSU was a really good team this year.

Mikey, check your facts -

Aside from the end-of-season win over Ty Lawson-less UNC, FSU's best RPI wins were over #28 Clemson (twice). They perfected the art of losing close games, which was their undoing in round one against the 5th or 6th best Big Ten team.

Also, they lost this season to RPI #78 Northwester, RPI #61 Miami, and RPI #60 BC. Jeez, think before you post.

As the official delusional Arizona fan on this site, and the only one who thought they deserved a ticket, I say well done Cats!

SWEEEEEEEEEET!!!

Kudos to Chris for keeping the faith.

Can they beat Louisville? Yes they can. Whether they will is another matter. Bear Down!

As a Terp fan first and an ACC fan second, the ACC's performance was shockingly abysmal. Clemson and BC losing were not surprising seeing as a 10 beating a 7 is not really an upset although. But FSU losing after having such a big lead was pretty bad and Wake's performance was awful. They have a lot of really good talent but seemed to fall apart down the stretch of the season. The Terps played well in their win against Cal and it would have been nice to see them play better against Memphis but its tough to win when your opponent shoots 70% in the first half and you don't get too many second chance shots. So once again its NC and Duke that are the only ones left. Duke has a tough game against Villanova which I expect them to lose but I still think NC will be in the championship game.

Grevis Vasquez wondered what Memphis' record would be if they played in the ACC. Maybe he should wonder what Maryland's record would be if they had a team like Memphis in their conference.

ACC fans have been ripping the Big Ten all season, especially when it came time to give out bids. Well here we are, the Big Ten has more tournament wins, more teams in the 2nd round, and is 2-0 vs. the ACC.

Could the middle of the Big Ten beat UNC or Duke, that's not the issue (although Michigan did beat Duke). The issue was did the middle of the Big Ten deserve bids more than the middle of the ACC. Well the middle of the Big Ten acquitted themselves well, while the middle of the ACC just collapsed.

To be fair, however, I think we should acknowledge that the Big XII was underrated this season. I didn't think much of them because I doubted Ok St. and Texas A&M, but they did rather well.

It will be an interesting next two rounds, now that we've trimmed the field to the truly elite teams (except for Xavier and Arizona anyway).
