The Breakdown
As to be expected this early in the year, there were quite a few changes in this week's bracket. There are so many big conference teams with (a.) shaky losses or (b.) losses to the only quality teams they've faced so far, that it makes it tough to choose who's in and who's out. Thanks to some big conference dropouts this week, the MVC was able to snag a fifth bid.

Western Carolina, are you serious?
Of course they are...
it's that VAUNTED prediction/projection system that helps them to SOOOOOOOOOOO accurately predict/project their bracket.
Drew Barnette made a huge mistake on Bracket Express. North Dakota is not even eligible for the NCAA tournament yet. This is only their 3rd year at Division 1.
I meant North Dakota State*
Where is Matt's bracket for this week? It is already Wednesday. Washington State just keeps on rolling. What on earth has happened to New Mexico?
"There are so many big conference teams with (a.) shaky losses or (b.) losses to the only quality teams they've faced so far, that it makes it tough to choose who's in and who's out."
maybe that is why clowns like you and Joe Lunardi shouldn't try and post a bracket and projection until the season is at least halfway through (like maybe after january 1st ??)
No I compeltely disagree with Mr. Anonymous. These early projections are very fun for true fans.
Pretty funny right now......Wonder is Webber and Payton are glad they left SIU for Illinois and Purdue.
Didn't see those schools
Gee, Bruce Weber (only one B moron) has won a Big ten regular season AND postseason title, made a Final Four AND a championship game appearance AND now makes in excess of $1 million per year, while Chris Lowery (current head coach at SIU earns just around $200,000/year, all the while posting 0 wins in the past 2 NCAA Tournaments.
But wait, Bruce Weber and Illinois did NOT make B 101's December 4th prediction/projection for the 2007 NCAA Tournament. I can imagine he is absolutely crestfallen he left SIU now !!!!!
.....and just WHO is Payton, or do you mean Matt PAINTER, the current head coach at Purdue and former head coach (for one season) at SIU ???
Next time you make a post, it might make a little more impact if you actually get the names correct !! Perhaps you are the guy who told C&C that Dave Leitao is still the head coach at Depaul (instead of Virginia).

Hmmm.....maybe if you actually took the time to read past postings by these guys, you would see that normally, that is when their first projections are put out.
But this year, all of the people wanted a preseason bracket......
So if you want to heckle them.....be like me. Take a number, and get in line.
Mr. Anonymous......
"Hmmm.....maybe if you actually took the time to read past postings by these guys, you would see that normally, that is when their first projections are put out.
"
I have read their posts, since their first post back on November 8, 2004. Can you say the same ?? The first season, C&C waited until January 2005 to post their first field of 65 (and in the process criticized other bracketologists like Lunardi and Mejia for posting theirs before the season began).
Then, on November 15, 2005, C&C posted their "preseason" bracket, Field of 65 for last year's tournament (and even then, C&C stated that they felt it was too early to fill in an actual bracket.....their actual post was...."Our first "bracket" will come out in January. Until then, we will simply seed teams. It's too early to put together an offical "bracket." Too much can happen."
So when you tell me that their predictions normally come out in early November, you are.....OF COURSE..... MISTAKEN.
...and if they are going to post a bracket as early as November/December then quit whining ......"There are so many big conference teams with (a.) shaky losses or (b.) losses to the only quality teams they've faced so far, that it makes it tough to choose who's in and who's out."
Suck it up and make a prediction/projection.
BTW, next time you crticize me, get your facts straight FIRST.
Happy Holidays to you too, pokerplayr. Did you get our Christmas card?
Nice to see you have time to offer Xmas wishes and yet have no time to offer anything else than a weekly Field of 65..... you guys MUST be REALLY busy !!!!!!
The bottum part of your bracket is missing in all 4 regions. I think your seeding for this week is very good. Keep up the good work. Thank you for serving our nation in Iraq. Your service is appreciated. thanks
Its nice to see that Poker Player is in the Christmas spirit. Thanks for being so nice & considerate to the other posters on this board.
Bottum ??? LOL My 8-year old can spell bottom correctly.

I reply to sarcasm with sarcasm.... and if people would make intelligent posts, ask intelligent questions, and ensure their facts are correct before posting, there would be no reason to call them out on it. Or are you one of those people who think Dave Leitao is still the head coach at DePaul, Payton is the head coach at Purdue and Webber is the head coach at Illinois ??
Or am I to ignore all those things just becuase Christmas is 16 days away ??
I am quite busy pokerplayr. I am preparing to go to war and I need to make sure I put all my warheads on the correct foreheads. Can't make mistakes, which can be difficult up at 20,000 feet.

I wish you well and god's speed while in Iraq, but unless you are posting and editing your blog from 20,000 feet in the air, your potential for making mistakes is irrelevant and if you and your partner have the time to make smart-*** remarks to me.....
"Happy Holidays to you too, pokerplayr. Did you get our Christmas card? "
....then you can't be THAT DAMN BUSY!!! .....and you should have time to do more than a weekly Field of 65.
Wow the beat goes on for the Missouri Valley with Indiana State shocking Butler. Creighton knocked off a very good Xavier team & Southern Illinois beat Western Kentucky. The MVC definately deserves respect.
Chris & Craig, Can you please boot Poker Player from the board? He is very rude.
Next time you feel like criticizing me, learn a lesson. Come prepared or dont come at all.
Callie,
You're exactly right about the MVC. The MVC is a five-bid league right now, and we think that should hold up come tourney time. The league has built some really nice OOC resumes so far, and that only continued last night. The Creighton win over a hot Xavier team was huge.
How can you guys put LSU a 2 seed and WICHITA STATE a 4 seed??? Didnt WICHITA STATE beat them at their home
SOMETIME seams GAY here!!!1
In vids, you mean, Doc?
