  1. Nice brackets with UTEP winning a few games. BYU in the Final Four? Which one of your brackets have been winning the most the last 4 to 5 years? (whose bracket should I copy?) I'm going to use some of your picks for my family pool. Nice job.

I'm having a tough time filling out the Midwest region guys.

Chris I have the same final four as you (different champ game though) but I was just wondering if you guys though that Ohio State could get to the final four, or if it is too tough of a road to get there?

Sorry - Craig and I have the same final four (with Baylor as the sleeper)

Apparently their "best 4 out of 5 years" claim is for picking the teams and seeds for the tourny, not win-loss.

Not much help to me either for my office pool, but I did already select my bracket yesterday so it's interesting to see how I compared.

There are going to be more upsets than Seth Davis thinks. Picking all chalk is a mistake. Look out for Gonzaga beating Syracuse and Richmond over Villanova. The biggest 1st round surprise looks like Murray State over Vandy.

You all have one wrong off the bat. UNLV will beat No. Iowa. Take that to the bank.

Not to mention give Kansas a run for it's money. Unlike 2 years ago when they met in the second round(which the Rebs were in til the second half) we have far more depth than we did that year. When were going on all cylinders we can beat anyone.

    Thanks C&C.

  9. All chalk made the Final Four in 2008, so it's possible. I don't have Kentucky making it past the Elite Eight in my bracket. I don't think they have the experience.

I'm happy to see that all three of you have my Jayhawks winning it all.

The West region could really be blown apart by upsets. We could see a wild regional in Salt Lake City.

    Gonzaga
    UTEP
    Xavier
    BYU

Syracuse is solid. Gonzaga tends to underacheive in the big dance

The better team does not always win a tournament game, that is why it is called March Madness. At least one number 1 seed will get knocked out in the second round. Nobody is going a hand an easy Sweet 16 spot to them just because the media loves big name schools.

    ReplyDelete
  13. 7:09, are you sure about one 1 seed being gone before the Sweet 16?

you guys should run your own bracket contest!

I like FSU in the second round. Without Onuaku, the Cuse will have a hard time scoring against FSU's 7-1, 6-11 front line, and their back court will struggle against FSU's 6-9, 6-5, 6-4 starting back court. Oh, did I mention they lead the country in field goal percentage defense? The Zags are getting too much credit for a team that has one impressive win on the year, and got dropped by 35 against duke. Duke's defense held them to 42, Cincinatti's to 61 in OT, how much will they score on FSU's top ranked defense?

Maybe like most(?)my bracket goes through a lot of changes from Sunday to Thursday, but all in all its been pretty standard.

In addition to throwing in wins by Washington and Old Dominion, I just sent Wisconsin all the way to the finals.

    Am I Insane?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wisco is rated 3rd in the Pomeroy ratings, and is mentioned in Vegas Watch as a value bet (http://vegaswatch.net/), so I wouldn't say insane. Granted, I have them out by Kentucky, but that should be a toss up if they both make it that far.

I have sconsin in the final 4... should be able to frustrate kentucky, although they tend to have problems scoring in the tourney, and they have trapped me before.

  19. New Mexico needs to play a lot better if they want to beat Washington. Who do you all like in the Oakland vs Pitt game?

Are you guys going to be posting your comments on the games this weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I may have been completely wrong about the Big East being a great conference, but I was definitely right about the MWC sucking.

Villanova was overranked, and everyone agreed on that, but I never expected them to be as terrible as they've shown themselves to be. Same with Notre Dame, Louisville, Marquette, and Georgetown.

Syracuse and WVU, who are the best of the Big East, still remain. I still have faith in both of them at least making the final 4, even if I was wrong about Villanova.

Who expected this much excitement out of such a crappy bracket?

  22. you guys have a real bad bracket this year

Dan H, Do you still think all 4 one seeds will make the sweet 16?

    Butler 63

I sure hope Kentucky loses. John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins could care less if they earn a college diploma or not. Calipari brought them to Lexington strictly to win games, he could care less about their academics. Meet Derek Rose. Calipari is great at putting schools on probation.

B101, Who do ya like to make Final Four? I think it will be Syracuse, Tennessee, Duke, and West Virginia.

    ReplyDelete
  27. So who was the jackass who said I'd be proven wrong and I was a moron for saying the MWC was overrated and Butler was better than a 5 seed?

Who exactly is an idiot now? Seems to me both the highly ranked MWC teams are home licking their wounds... and Butler just knocked off the team a 1 seed.

Oh, and UNM lost to 11th seed WASHINGTON, from the PAC 10 of all conferences.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous9:34 AM

John Calipari cheated yet lost yet again. Why did Kentucky hire a cheater who can't even help his players shoot free throws better? Has there ever been a more slimy and sleazy head coach than Calipari? Kentucky should be ineligible for the NCAA tournament because of the pathetic graduation rates.

    a Pissed Ant:

Why do you hate the Mountain West and New Mexico so much?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't HATE the MWC and New Mexico. I simply stated they were overrated and untested. Then both BYU and UNM got beat down in the tournament... hence giving more evidence to my argument.

A conference who only as a whole has only 1 win against a ranked team, and that being an overranked and barely ranked Texas A&M does not deserve to have two teams ranked in the top 15.

That's not a hateful message, and seems pretty logical. Especially considering Texas A&M played 8 games against ranked teams throughout the season, and only managed one victory.

Not exactly the profile of a top 25 team.

  31. It was very dissappointing to see Duke win. Their coach is very abusive and disrespectful to the referees. He uses vulgar language and acts like a bully.
