Woohooo for the SEC! Bama and Georgia in! I think UGA definitely is. Bama might need to be more scared.
ReplyDeleteYEA GAELS!
ReplyDeleteHarvard should get in, SEC Weak (I mean West) Alabama should be out, Harvard c'mon give it to the little guy!
ReplyDeleteGlad Virginia Tech is in according to you guys but hopefully they can avoid a first game!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth Gary Parrish and Jerry Palm have the exact same 68 teams in. Wouldn't be surprised if CBS leaked the bracket to both of them.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology
Yes! I hope your right B101... Georgia vs. St. Mary's eh? Love it!
ReplyDeleteWould maybe bump down Colorado or Penn St to the first four game, and switch Bama with any one of the first four out, but looks good beyond that.
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth does anyone imagine that Michigan State has a better resume than Penn State? I'm not saying the committee won't do it, but it's just not true.
ReplyDeletePalm and Parrish have Georgia avoiding the play-in game while B101 has us in the play-in game. That is sweeeeeeet! I just want to be part of the 68 baby.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Clemson over UGA for the last 4 in. I don't think UGA and Bama both make it.
ReplyDeleteHmm... I have Clemson and Alabama swapped, although can't say I'm surprised given your comments about Clemson lately. Also I still don't understand UConn being a 2 with Syracuse a 4.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you guys will be proven right though. 30 more minutes till we know for sure!
The inclusion of VCU by some is interesting....
ReplyDeleteOUCH! Tough times for Conference USA, no teams in the top 11 seeds.

Is Penn state being a 12 seed counting that they lost to Ohio state?
ReplyDeleteFor me its no Va Tech, Alabama, VCU, Boston Colelge or USC
ReplyDeleteSwitch Bama for Clemson and I'd say its a fair bracket.
ReplyDeleteI will jump for joy if Harvard gets an at-large. I am really hoping for some big surprises.
ReplyDelete@Gophs88
ReplyDeleteGeorgia beat UAB already this year. No way they play each other in a play-in game.
Confused how Lunardi has ODU as a 9 seed (won the CAA tourney), yet has Mason as an 8 seed (lost in the semis of the CAA tourney). Do not really understand his logic on that one??
ReplyDeleteB101, why does colorado get in so easily with a 11-13 record vs the top 200 and i repeat 200 rpi? I know they beat kstate 3 times texas and mizzou but still a losing record against the top 200 shouldnt cut it. Bama should definitely be in with 13 wins in the SEC (inluding the tournament win). 4 of those coming against the east teams. So what im asking is what is the percent that bama get in?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I worry B101 that your bracket makes *too much* sense. I just can't bring myself to believe the committee didn't include VCU, Missouri State, or a 2nd Conference USA team.
ReplyDeleteI think Penn State, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and Clemson fans are the most nervous right now. I'd say USC fans too except they don't have any real fans, lol!
I wholeheartedly agree on no Clemson and no USC. That's the way it should be.
ReplyDeleteclemson shouldnt get in over bama.... They have 0 top 50 wins..
ReplyDeleteI think Clemson has a better resume then both Florida St and Va Tech but just dont have a top 50 win but many wins from 51-70.
ReplyDeleteHow does Lunardi still have both Georgia and Alabama still out... You know the selection committee will take one of those teams (and I think only 1 of those teams gets in)
ReplyDeleteWe have to admit we went combo head and heart with this bracket.
ReplyDelete@B101
ReplyDeleteWas the Georgia selection with your head or your heart?
Head. We like Georgia.
ReplyDelete'Bama and St. Mary's were heart.
ReplyDeleteAgree with AG - this never goes exactly as projected regardless of logic; the committee always throws a "WTF?" wrench in there. Less than 20 minutes!
ReplyDeleteInstead of Virginia Tech and Alabama , I've got Clemson and UAB in the field.
ReplyDeleteI usually get burned by putting in a deserving non-BCS team over a mediocre one, and I'm sure I'll see it again if UAB misses out.
If you end up being correct, it'll be a shame to see the regular season champ of the #8 conference in the nation get shelved in favor of a team with an #80 RPI... ugh.
15 minutes AHHHHHH!!!!!!! I literally am freaking out!!!!11
ReplyDeleteYou have to switch Clemson for St. Mary's...if the Gaels make it over Clemson and USC in my opinion then that's a disgrace
ReplyDeleteT-minus TEN minutes
ReplyDeleteB101,
ReplyDeleteI love you man but Clemson will be in it, whether or not they deserve to be. Georgia or Alabama will be out. THeres a difference between predicting what you think will happen and what you think SHOULD happen.
B101, you gonna get your bracket up before the announcement?
ReplyDeleteI love CHarles Barkley talking out of his ass.
ReplyDeleteSaint Mary's getting in - ugh!
ReplyDeleteAgreed with Anon @4:52. Hard to see both SEC teams making it and the ACC only getting 4 in.
ReplyDeleteCan somebody post the brackets after they announce them I'm on my phone
ReplyDeleteBama a heart pick? I thought the consensus was that they were undeserving but would get in with their SEC record alone.
ReplyDeleteI could see Bama as a head pick based on lots of power conference wins, but absolutely no sympathy for them if they're out. They both had a miserable OOC SOS AND did badly against it. Between that and their conference they played 11 teams below 200.
They have new music!
ReplyDelete:-O
Hey guys check out my bracket and let me know what you think. http://averageatbest.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/final-2011-bracket-projection/
ReplyDeletehere's my bracket. i made it on a spreadsheet, so make sure you take into account the "s curve" thing.
ReplyDelete1- Ohio St. Kansas ND Duke
2- UConn SDSU UNC Pitt
3- Texas Kentucky Florida Louisville
4- BYU Syracuse Purdue Arizona
5- Xavier Wisc GTown Utah St.
6- St. John's WVU Temple K.State
7- Cincy Wash UNLV Vandy
8- Mizzou ODU A&M UCLA
9- Tenn Marquette G.Mason Nova
10- Richmond Gonzaga Penn St. Fla St.
11- Memphis Mich St. Butler Mich
12- USC/St.Mary's VT/Colo Clemson Illinois
13- Princeton Ind. St. Oakland Belmont
14- Akron Morehead St. Bucknell LIU
15- St. Peter's N.Colo Wofford Hampton
16- BU NC Ashville UALR/CSB Ala.St/UTSA
i also tried to spread out the acc, big12, big10, and big east as best as possible. i'd be all good with alabama or uga getting in over usc or clemson too.
Got the ones!
ReplyDeleteSt. Mary's is in. They have a camera in their room. Just a guess though.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is Pitt SE or SW
ReplyDelete"Got the ones!"
ReplyDeleteunlike joey brackets!
Cameras at Clemson and St. Marys. Not sure if that means anything or not.
ReplyDeletewith my bracket, look at 1st mentioned in each seed as a region, 2nd mention a diff region and so on. and i "s'curved" the whole thing. also a partial attempt at putting in pods geographically, easily noted in the kansas bracket, and az at 4 and utah st at 5 seeds in the duke west bracket.
ReplyDeletePretty funny watching CBS talking about the 1's. They also mentioned ND, UNC, and San Diego St as possibilities. Showed UNC with their 2-5 record vs top 50. Yep, definitely in the 1 conversation. LOL.
ReplyDeleteNova in as a 9. Some people had questions on that.
ReplyDeleteUAB!!!
ReplyDeleteUAB!!!! And Clemson!
ReplyDeleteLOL.
Either Georgia or Bama can say bye bye
ReplyDeleteWow, UAB and Clemson in the 12 play-in.
ReplyDeleteclemson and uab in!
ReplyDeleteAnd Georgia a 10!
ReplyDeletegeorgia in!
ReplyDeleteMarquette an 11? Thats bad for Illinois.
ReplyDeleteHaha, and everyone can pen in an 11 seed upset when Marquette beats Xavier by double digits.
ReplyDeleteEast is stacked.
ReplyDeleteAs a Cuse fan, hate having Marquette and Cuse meet in 2nd round.
ReplyDeleteSeth Davis disagrees, and predicts a Syracuse-Xavier game, with Xavier winning.
ReplyDeletekenny smith should not be doing the selection show. what bracket doesn't have a lot of different styles?
ReplyDeleteUAB? Who's out then? Can't be the Nitanny Lions. I'm sweating if I'm SMC right now, or Va Tech. And things just got tenser in Boulder.
ReplyDeleteI think with UAB getting in, St. Mary's just heard their bubble burst
ReplyDeleteWhat did I tell you!?!? Georgia not just in, but safely in!
ReplyDeleteI also called the committee going with a mid-major nobody saw coming.
seeds looked good for us, but not uab and clemson
ReplyDeleteAnd also... Syracuse in Cleveland? So's OSU, so where's Pitt?
ReplyDeleteI hope Pittsburgh fans didn't buy their first weekend tickets in Cleveland yet.
ReplyDeletegeorgia a 10 has to bode well for alabama, could va tech or penn state get left out?? or colorado??
ReplyDeletePenn State, Illinois, Michigan, or Michigan State is going to miss out. That 11 seed for Marquette convinced me.
ReplyDeleteBetween Cuse, UNC, and Xavier, that bracket looks custom-build to take down Ohio State.
ReplyDeleteim so nervous as a psu fan... i remember 2009 very well...
ReplyDelete"Between Cuse, UNC, and Xavier, that bracket looks custom-build to take down Ohio State."
ReplyDeletewhy? ohio only will have to play one of them in the regional finals (if one of those 3 even gets there).
UAB/Clemson just shocking to me. VT could be in big trouble. If VT is left out for the fourth straight year in a row (after pretty much everyone picking them as in) I think there might be a killing spree in Blacksburg tonight.
ReplyDeleteMichigan an 8????????????
ReplyDeleteWill just exploded.
ReplyDeleteWill just had a coronary
ReplyDeleteDid the selection committee accidentally allow 75 teams into the tourney?
ReplyDeleteApparently SD st. got the top 2 seed. Bodes well for Duke
ReplyDeleteThere we go, PSU a 10. MSU? Might be left out.
ReplyDeleteI am starting to worry about Florida State....
ReplyDeletelooks like Illinois is out!
ReplyDeleteMissouri an 11? Colorado is done.
ReplyDeletewow mizzu as an 11?!
ReplyDeletelooks like Illinois is out!
ReplyDeleteDid Missouri just get an 11? AN ELEVEN? Possible Big East matchup in round 2 (or 3)
ReplyDeleteDamn, a strong 11 seed in Mizzou. Fairly low seed for a team with some legit wins and no bad losses.
ReplyDeleteAs a Kentucky fan, I am furious about our draw. Were we really the last 4 seed?
ReplyDeleteGeorgia and Penn State as 10s bodes ill for Bama and MSU.
ReplyDeleteWest region has Duke/UConn written all over it.
Michigan as an 8 is ridiculous, how the hell are they going to guard Scotty Hopson and Elias Harris!?
so colorado is out..thats messed up
ReplyDeleteAre they purposefully stacking the 11 seeds so it looks like there are more upsets? I think both 11 seeds will be favored in their games so far.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Kentucky four seed is odd. I mean they just smoked Florida and have a better overall profile than Florida, who seems destined for a 3 seed.
ReplyDeletelooks like bama and st marys are out to us
ReplyDeleteCan't see MSU getting left out. The Washington win looks better now and with MSU and 8 seed, MSU loses to them look better. Guessing St.Marys and VT get left out. Maybe Col.
ReplyDeleteRoss, not necessarily. They don't follow the S-curve as closely as many people think, especially the way they have to spread out the top 16 teams that are in the same conference. It is just as likely they were one of the top 4-seeds and sent to Newark as a reward.
ReplyDeleteDoes it seem like they went out of their way not to spread out the big east teams?
ReplyDeleteillinois a 9... God I would love to play them
ReplyDeleteIllinois grab a 9 seed. Nice.
ReplyDeleteRichmond a 12??? After winning the A-10???
ReplyDeleteHoly poop
ReplyDeleteUSC and VCU! bye bye cu, alabama and vt!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe VCU just got an at-large!!!!
ReplyDeleteUSC and VCU???
ReplyDeleteOuch USC AND VCU? VT, SMU and Bama are toast.
ReplyDeleteomg
ReplyDeleteWow, I saw this coming, and I'm STILL shocked VCU and USC got in!
ReplyDeleteIts looking really, really bleak for Bama, VT, and MSU now.
Go Georgia!!! 10 seed baby in the toughest bracket.... lol. Who cares! We're in and can handle Washington and maybe upset overseeded UNC??? Haha... Go Dawgs!!
ReplyDeleteOnly 1 of MSU,Col, VT, Bama will get in.
ReplyDeleteOnly 1 of MSU,Col, VT, Bama will get in.
ReplyDeleteis florida the last 2 seed? where will byu be?
ReplyDeletemake that 2 of those and Saint Marys.
ReplyDeleteflorida st not getting in???
ReplyDeleteSo obviously a rumor we had heard could be true... that the committee would put the 16-seed play-ins on different nights so that they could put an at-large play-in on each night for TV ratings. Because of this they have put Pittsburgh in DC and not in Cleveland.
ReplyDeleteMichigan State is in; everyone else (aside from OSU) from the Big Ten has been seeded higher than expected, so I'd guess they will be too.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, expect them to screw around with 1-seed pod sites from this year going forward, despite what is most advantageous to the 1-seed and stripping them of what they have earned.
ReplyDeleteOuch Utah St. getting a 12 seed
ReplyDeletewow wisc gets belmont, thats a toughhhhhh draw!
ReplyDeletewow wisc gets belmont, thats a toughhhhhh draw!
ReplyDeleteQuestion:
ReplyDeleteHow much did the Big 10 pay the selection committee to get all of their teams in?
There you go, Big Ten Kool-Aid for the committee. Let the conspiracy theories begin.
ReplyDeleteKnew Purdue was a #3 when I saw Michigan and Illinois getting high seeds. Big Ten has a good rep in the committee's eyes.
ReplyDeleteLet's just tip them up and see who wins!
VCU has 3 wins over tournament teams and losses to USF, JMU, Georgia State, and Northeastern. Colorado has fewer bad losses and beat the same 5 seed THREE times.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteYes, no Va Tech. Love it
no va tech, alabama or colorado.
ReplyDeleteNO VT!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteit looks like seth greenberg popped the champagne a little early.
ReplyDeleteI TOLD YOU PEOPLE!
ReplyDeleteI TOLD YOU THAT COLORADO'S RESUME WAS CRAP!!!1!
Phwew!, Michigan Sate made it, even though i figured it, wow, i breathed a sigh of relief when they called MSU's name
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you are happy that the VT Senior did not get their chance.
ReplyDeleteI called UAB.
ReplyDeleteBut WOW, holy shiiiiit! Tons of shockers!
Wow did the Big 10 get way too high of seeds. Ohio St. will be the only one who makes the sweet 16. VCU AND USC? What the crap!?
ReplyDeleteColorado had a crap resume?
ReplyDelete21 wins. 13 losses.
Tourney-bound wins: (5): Mizzou, KSU (3x), Texas
Bad losses: (2): at SanFran, at Oklahoma
VCU:
23 wins. 11 losses.
Tourney-bound wins: (3): UCLA, ODU, GMU
Bad losses: (3): at USF, at Northeastern, JMU
Reality is that the committee relies very heavily on RPI.
guys on espn are soooo pissed hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteOkay, Florida gets a 2 and Kentucky is a 4 with OSU? Sorry but UK got a miserable draw given their resume.
ReplyDeleteOh and Gene Smith, the NCAA Chair, is from Ohio St. That explains how Michigan got an 8!
ReplyDeletecolorado also lost to iowa st. but they should of been in instead of vcu. other then that not a bad bracket. balanced regions too
ReplyDeleteGene Smith is pretty much resisting the urge to say "we just look at what the websites say and then pull names out of a hat for the bubble teams."
ReplyDeleteNo real info being given. Haha.
"colorado also lost to iowa st. but they should of been in instead of vcu. other then that not a bad bracket. balanced regions too"
ReplyDeletethe SE region is by far the worst -- florida shouldn't be a 2, byu with no davies is a weak 3 and st john's without its best big guy is a weak 6.
Beyond all the obvious shockers, I'm stunned that Richmond is a 12 seed.
ReplyDeleteAlso: I *did* warn you that putting Alabama in the bracket was going to bite you in the end... .:)
How did Michigan get an 8-seed!? Haters are gonna hate even harder now!
ReplyDeleteIf the tourney relies on RPI, why the heck is USC in?
ReplyDeleteI am shocked - shocked! - that Dick Vitale is upset that Virginia Tech didn't get in.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the last four teams in, should be the first four teams out
ReplyDeleteLast Four In: Clemson, UAB, VCU, USC
First Four Out (probably): Virginia Tech, Colorado, Saint Mary's, Alabama
The real shockers to me are USC and VCU. I can't see how either is ahead of Colorado or Va Tech. I guess bad losses don't matter or Va Tech would have been in over both. Is there any reasonable case for VCU over Va Tech?
ReplyDeleteRe: USC.
ReplyDeleteBad RPI but tons of top wins and probably gave them leeway for not having Fontan on the team for some of those bad losses.
People, if you looked at the Bracket and saw Texas as a 4 seed, you'd realize just how little weight people were giving a win over Texas. Plus there were those two close losses to Iowa State, the god-awful nonconf schedule they STILL couldn't win, and the ridiculously low RPI.
ReplyDeleteIn hindsight, its really a no-brainer.
VT, to me, is the biggest snub. They should have been in over a couple of teams.
ReplyDeleteSomebody needs to check up on B101 and make sure they're still alive
ReplyDeleteGreat point by Dakich: if you take out all of Colorado's wins over teams ranked 200 or worse, their record is 11-13. Their entire resume depended on how good you think Kansas State is (plus their win over Texas during UT's two-week stretch where they lost to every B12 bubble team).
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I am very, very surprised VCU and UAB both got in. Was Colorado the team that got left out because of that? No idea...
BLAST FROM THE PAST:
ReplyDeleteWill said...
Can we all agree that the chance of Michigan beating state and then Illinois is practically nil? All michigan has to do is play better for the next two games than they've played all year. I give them a 6% chance of winning the next two games. If they do, they're on the bubble.
1:09 AM, March 4th
Still, a win over a 4 seed, 3 over a 5 seed, and 1 over an 11 isn't better than win over a 7, 8, and 9 seed?
ReplyDeleteHow many did Lunardi get?
ReplyDeleteWell, that was fun.
ReplyDeleteWow.
I'll take a 66 for myself having
ReplyDeleteUAB and Clemson in, but man how did USC and VCU get in....
Hey B101, I just wanted to say "I told you so" about VCU. Just so you know, you don't forget DCDuck told you to put VCU in and you didn't listen to him.
ReplyDeleteGO RAMS GO!
I guess if you take away VCU's 200+ RPI wins, they are 12-11.
ReplyDeleteUAB's they are 14-8. None of these teams played a very strong schedule. That's why I figured wins against strong teams and bad losses would come into play. Guess not.
he missed 3 i believe.
ReplyDeletehe didnt have vcu, uab and georgia
ReplyDeleteUAB - regular season champion of a top 10 RPI conference. In again! Keep watching for that.
ReplyDeletejoey brackets missed 3 and got 8 of the top 16 seeded wrong. at least we know he didn't get tipped off this year...
ReplyDeleteBy the way, VT vs VCU:
ReplyDeleteVT (21-11, 9-7): RPI 61, Sagarin-ELO 44, KenPom 30
Best wins: Duke, FSU(2), PSU
Bad losses: GTech, UVA(2)
VCU (23-11, 12-6): RPI 50, Sagarin-ELO 61, KenPom 84
Best wins: UCLA, GMU, ODU, Wichita St
Bad losses: USF, Georgia St, Northeastern, James Madison
Too much reliance on the RPI, a terrible rating system.
while i had fun making my own bracket, i feel i worked harder putting it together than the committee. and i think people that put websites like this one together can make the same argument.
ReplyDeletenot only due the snubs of VT and colo shock me, but some of those seeds are crazy. uga a 10, but no bama? florida at 2 when they lost their tourney? utah st a 12? all the lower big10 teams seeded higher than you'd think (most notably mich at 8...though i agree with penn st at 10) and i can go on an on.
and you can't even pick a pattern. you'd think rpi heavy, but then why no harvard? and why utah st. so low? and the reverse of that, putting in usc over some of the other teams.
i just cant get a rhyme or reason for how they did what they did other than use of a dart board and someone in indianapolis spiking the drinks of the committee that caused them to give way too high seeds to mich, mich st, and illinois.
wow. 4 wrong. back to the drawing board.
ReplyDeleteUtah State and Richmond's 12s mean they probably wouldn't have made it without the automatic bid.
ReplyDeleteThe only in/out issue I have with the field is they probably could have taken VT instead of UAB. I mean you'd at least think they had to beat ECU in the quarters to feel safe, especially since they never beat Memphis.
As for seeding...Florida a 2!? Izzo is not going to be intimidated by facing Billy Donovan at all.
Billy Donovan does have more national championships.
ReplyDeleteIzzo lost to Florida last year so he should be scared!
ReplyDeleteIs this the worst selection committee you've ever seen?
ReplyDeleteHELL YES, as a Tech fan I think it is an injustice to the Virginia Tech Seniors
ReplyDeleteCan we get B101's thoughts on this crazy night called selection sunday. I have never seen a committee this bad.
ReplyDeleteJust watched ESPN bitch for a half hour about 2-3 teams that do not have a prayer of winning the National Championship. 5-10 minutes maximum and stick it at the end of the show. Give us your "expert" insight as to the strengths and weaknesses of each team.
ReplyDeleteBTW, if I have 2 brackets to fill out, one of them is strictly the seeds straight up. I have won 3 times and 2nd several other times doing it that way.
Yeah, weird results. I'm a Big 10 fan and I think the Big 10 just got a huge undeserved gift.
ReplyDeleteAnd as previously mentioned, it can't just be RPI because Harvard's 35 should have put them in long before Clemson's 56.
It appears to me to be a combined RPI/big conference bias, though that doesn't fully explain Virginia Commonwealth (49).
Colorado ends up being the shocker, but they did the same thing to them as the committee did to Penn State in 2009. If you play a non-conference SOS in the 300s, you better dominate your conference.
ReplyDeleteDoes Brack101 post their picks before the tournament starts or how do you get their picks?
ReplyDeleteAnd in terms of the Big Ten, that was a bit odd. I was certain there would be a Big Ten sighting in the first 4. If you believe the seeds as "pure" (which I don't, I think they took some liberties for matchups and travel) that implies the Big Ten teams were all quite comfortable and all would've been in even in a 64 team field.
ReplyDeleteAs a PSU fan, when I saw Michigan as an 8, I laughed and knew we (PSU) were in, no problem.
Hmm, I wonder whether or not Apissedant hates the Big Ten...
ReplyDeletethey had to slot teams up or down 1 line cuz of the big east teams and i think thats what happened with mich and kstate.
ReplyDeleteThis is not meant as criticism of the "bracketologists," because they give us great diversions during the first two weeks of March and they generally have better reasoning than the selection committee. But is it almost time for America's bracketologists to discover new vocations if their object is to predict what the selection committee will do in terms of seeding and placement of teams, and not just predicting who will be in the field of 68?
ReplyDeleteThe committee's bracket bears almost no resemblance to what the leading bracketologists predicted.
Because ESPN's Joe Lunardi gets most of the publicity, despite being ranked 23rd in the last rankings of bracketologists, consider his final bracket today. If I'm not mistaken, he correctly picked a grand total of three first-round games. He had Ohio State playing a 16 from one of the play-in games in the East (but missed on his choice of both 16 play-in teams), San Diego State and Northern Colorado meeting in the 2-15 game in the West and BYU playing Wofford in the 3-14 game in the Southeast. And he's the guy that we're supposed to follow when he predicts who's in the field and where everyone else is going?
UAB VCU USC should have been out. Colorado Virginia Tech St. Mary's Alabama were all more qualified than those three squads. I am stunned.
ReplyDeletedoes colorado get left out of the nit? selection show is in an hour hahaha.
ReplyDeleteand even picking Ohio State to face a play-in winner is hardly a guess: OSU was the consensus #1 overall seed anyway, so of course they'd draw that game.
ReplyDeleteYup, I hate the Big 10, how did you guess? That's why I've been arguing that they should get 7 bids and that Michigan is safe for the past several days. Makes total sense.
ReplyDeleteSee? I knew it.
ReplyDeleteJoe Lunardi outperformed B101 this year....hinged on the USC selection.
ReplyDeleteB101 got 64 of 68 teams, 49 exact or within 1 seed, and 299 Bracket Project Score
Lunardi got 65 of 68 teams, 51 exact or within 1 seed, and 302 Bracket Project Score
I got 64 of 68 teams, 50 exact or within 1 seed, and 286 Bracket Project Score
And yes mag, I know you dont care.
I don't get why Florida gets so much flak for their 2 seed, when to me their resume is basically identical to North Carolina's: 26-6, won an OK conference, lost in the conference finals to a good team. Yes, Florida has 2 more bad losses, but they have a slightly higher RPI and SOS, and (more importantly) more top-notch wins... they can counter a win over Duke with 3 over Vandy, 3 over Tennessee, K-St., @Xavier, and a sweep over Georgia. If UNC deserves a 2, so does Florida.
ReplyDeleteLol @ Saint Mary's being more qualified. Their body of work is a joke. That is the one thing the committee got right.

They were apparently off by a bit.
